The DWPS program — being the first of its kind in Asia — greatly contributed to the institutionalisation of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda in the Philippines. The panel discussion highlighted the success and challenges during the program’s implementation, soliciting insights from the pioneering university, the Mindanao State University (MSU) Maguindanao. Two (2) other universities – the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO) and the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) – are currently in the works on replicating DWPS, with the integration of the geographic realities and community-specific contexts into the program.
PCID gives its sincerest appreciation to the Miriam College – Women and Gender Institute – WAGI for giving us a platform to promote the DWPS program and to tackle such critical topic during the 2nd Southeast Asia Women’s Summit and 8th National Women’s Summit, held on March 2-3, 2026, at the Miriam College Henry Sy, Sr. Innovation Center, in Quezon City.
PCID also gives its thanks to its partner institutions and individuals who contributed to the success of the DWPS program and for their continuing support in the institutionalization of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda in the Philippines.
