The Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID) condemns the unconscionable killing of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three embassy personnel in Benghazi on September 12.

This comes at a time when the whole world is remembering the 9/11 vicious attacks on the U.S. by Muslim terrorists a decade ago.

PCID rejects the far-fetched notion that the attack on the U.S. Embassy was in defense of Islam.

Not only does our faith condemn the killing of innocents and civilians but we regret the killing of an American diplomat who was a friend to Libyans and Muslims who aspire to be free of tyranny.

PCID calls upon all Muslims to heed the teachings of the Qu’ran that denounce the killing of innocent people regardless of religion: Do not take life, which Allah has made sacred, except through justice and the law. He orders this so that you may acquire wisdom (6:151).
