Biography

Hon. Moner BajunaidPROF. MONER BAJUNAID is currently the Secretary General of the National Ulama Conference of the Philippines (NUCP) and convenor of the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID).

He finished at the Philippine School of Business Administration, Manila in 1971 with a degree in Business Administration major in Economics. In 1975 he obtained a Certificate in Islamic and Arabic Studies from the Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. In 1978, he studied economics at the Cairo University under a masteral program and subsequently obtained a masteral equivalent in Islamic Studies (Usuluddin) at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan.

He served as Chancellor of the Mindanao State University in General Santos City from 1990 to 1995 and was an ex-officio member of the peace panel of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (2000-2001). Member of the Board of Trustees of Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) for two terms (2006-2010) and later elected as Vice Chairman of the Board.

He rejoined the government as Commissioner at the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in 2010-12.
